Step Up Authentication / MFA

The liability from failed authentication can cost you millions. How are you going to protect your business?

While causing users a little more work to access their accounts, step-up methods or multi-factor are still a part of many companies’ login schemes. But since users are already required to take more steps, there is no reason to make them any more burdensome.

The Better Step-up Authentication Solution

When the airport metal detector goes off, users automatically suffer the anxiety of stepping out of the line for additional checks. It’s the same in the online world. They think they’ve provided the necessary effort to log in, only to find out they need to do a little something extra. Do they have their token? Is their authenticator app up to date?

authID eliminates that anxiety, providing the happy path for MFA. In the event the user has failed an initial step, or is executing a high risk task that kicks off an enhanced method, authID employs a secure but user-friendly step-up in the form of a facial biometric. They can be prompted to take a self-portrait, which is then validated against a previously-registered (and fully encrypted) biometric signature, and they’re in. If the transaction begins on a desktop, it can be continued to a smartphone, and once the picture is taken and validated, control returns right back to that desktop. And multi-factor doesn’t have to be a hurdle if that factor is secure biometric verification with authID.
